The first thing I want to say is that you definitely need to read Romans 2, the whole chapter if Christianity means anything to you, it will speak to you. If you’re confused bout Christianity, it will answer your questions. If Christianity means nothing to you, it will persuade you. And this is the beauty in the Word of God, its different things to different people in every season. There is always some new revelation to be found in the same Bible verse you’ve been reciting since when you were in children’s church.
One of such verses, Philippians 4: 13, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’. We hear the words, but they don’t resound in our spirits. We don’t act like we actually believe that we can do all things. We limit ourselves. After declaring oh so boldly, ‘I can do all things through Christ’, we now go about living timid lives. Who will we then blame when things don’t work out? Is it God who is supposed to strengthen? Or ourselves? We, who ought to be doing, ‘the doing’. God cannot strengthen nothing. You have to be doing something for Him to strengthen you.
So when we say, we can do all things, it’s just so God can strengthen it. Without God, the things we can do are drastically limited. And this thing all starts in the mind. All the strongholds that you or the devil has put up in your mind have to be brought crashing down. You can’t do all things if in your mind, the highest salary you can ever bring home is 2 million. It’s tantamount to limiting God to 2 million. When God can do abundantly, above everything you could ever ask or think. When God has said, he wishes above all things that we be in health. You think oh, I can be divinely healed if I have a headache, but if the doctor says I have cancer then it’s only a matter of time before I die.
God’s plan for us is to be limitless, don’t limit Him.
