2 Timothy 3 tells us of all the perilous things that shall happen in the end time. Talks about men becoming slaves to themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God etc. The list goes on and on. What strikes me is the fact that I look around today and I see the physical manifestations of these things all around me. It’s as though people of God no longer read their Bibles.
Heavy reliance is placed on what is coming out of the Pastor’s mouth. Hanging on to his every word. Not checking if what he’s saying tallies with what He is saying. In Matthew 24: 11, the Bible says, ‘And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.’ Every act of deception is a direct attack against the truth for the purpose of distorting the original creative order and position of the things by the Almighty God.
You see pastors in the news for doing all kinds of bizarre acts; having sex with members in the name of deliverance. This thing isn’t hard, if you can find justification for it in the Bible, all well and good. The problem arises where there is no justification and people have been entranced by the pastors’ words instead of turning to the Word.
Any Christianity that doesn’t preach holiness, that encourages worldliness and leans on sacrifices as a means of relating to God is no Christianity. Any pastor who shies away from preaching on rapture or salvation or the end time is not doing you any good. Yes, it’s good about the worldly benefits of serving God, what about the heavenly benefits which are more precious? Pastors are now motivational speakers, preaching modernism and relativism.
Just bear in mind that when we get to Heaven, we will give account. Dangerous heretic teachings are in the air, but anyone that abides in the Word of God can never be deceived. Take heed, lest ye fall.
