Condemned?

Romans 8:1, ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit’.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I cannot but emphasize the importance of actually carrying our Bible whether on our phones or physically and reading it. You can’t be a Christian and say that you’re only going to break your Bible out on Sundays. It really doesn’t work that way. It’s something you have to meditate on to get the essence of it. You can’t flimsily go through it or skim over it.

And it’s this ignorance that the devil capitalises on. See what the scripture says here. There is therefore now no condemnation. Meaning there might have been condemnation before but NOW, all that’s in the past. What’s the past? The past starts the moment you got into Christ. From that point onwards, you had a new future. Old things have passed away.

But a lot of people do not walk in the light of this revelation. They begin to doubt whether or not they have been truly saved. Let’s put it like this. You’re going on a journey from Lagos to Benin. You get to Benin. Do you begin to ask yourself if you’re still in Lagos? Or doubt if you’re in Benin? No!

Just the same way. Christianity is a journey. The journey starts once the Holy Spirit convicts you and you eventually give your life to Christ. The destination being Heaven. To stop you from reaching your destination, the devil then begins to make you question whether or not you’re even on the right path. Anytime this happens, just remember Romans 8: 1, there is therefore now no condemnation.

It’s not that there wasn’t condemnation when you gave your life but 2 weeks down the road condemnation arrives. Nope! It’s the present state of things in your life. There is therefore Now no condemnation.

  1. Thank God for His grace and mercy – for sending Jesus to be condemned so that we can be justified. All praise and adoration to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Amen.

God bless you and your ministry. May you be renewed and watered by the spirit even as you watered us in Jesus Name, Amen.
