Acts 23: 1, ‘And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good consciences before God until this day’.

Paul always obeyed his conscience. This is because he knew that his conscience was the voice of his spirit. However, the conscience only starts speaking for the spirit, after the spirit gets born again. Up until then, the spirit is unregenerate. But after salvation, because our spirits become new creatures (2 Corinthians 5: 17), we now have the nature of God in our spirits. We have the life of God in us. Anything goes for a normal person, but for a born again child of God, your conscience will not permit you to act, talk, and do just anything you want to.

God is from age to age and he has given that eternal nature to our spirits. When we get born again, we get eternal life. Not just about going to heaven, but because God is eternal life, we get God Himself on the inside of us.

If people will learn to follow their spirits; if we can only learn to take advantage of the life that is in us, a lot of the things that are challenges to others will be child’s play for us. This is the magnitude of the power we have on the inside of us. We can cannot keep on letting God’s Spirit go to sleep in our lives. We have to put the Spirit into action. Become more God-conscious.

Eternal life is not only about the after. It’s about the now. God is eternal and we have the nature of God in us, so we have the life of God. The nature of God is in our spirits. The Holy Spirit is living and abiding in our spirits. Get acquainted.
