Fire In My Bones

Jeremiah 20: 9 – ‘If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot’.

If you haven’t felt this fire, like I said in my last post, COME UP HIGHER! Carry God’s matter on your head. You cannot but preach this Gospel. This Good News that we have been charged with proclaiming. You can’t have a regular life. You can’t be normal. Because the meaning of that word is wrong. Abnormal things have become normal and you say you want to be normal. Normalcy is what got us here in the first place. How about we break away from normal for once and do things God’s way?

Romans 8: 3 says, ‘God went for the jugular when he sent his own Son. He didn’t deal with the problem as something remote and unimportant. In his Son, Jesus, he personally took on the human condition, entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all’.

God took you personally, why can’t you take Him personally too? You can’t get this fire in your bones experience until you begin to take God personally. There’s so much more than making heaven with this salvation package. It’s like having a smart phone that you only use to make calls, because you are unaware of its other features.

And do you know the key to this? It all begins by giving God your emotions. Give it to Him. No holding back. Don’t hold on to them. He’ll use them in more productive ways than we could ever do. Come into a full realization of just what God’s love is about.
