Get The Word

One thing we must be constantly reminded of as Christians is how much of a liar the devil is (John 8: 44). The Bible says that he cometh not but for to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10: 10). There is only one way to achieve such objectives. Lying!

The devil knows whats up. He knows how good your life will get if you just stick it out. He knows how the joy of the Lord should be your strength. But the thing is, he can’t have you knowing that. He does everything within his power to ensure Christians remain oblivious to the manifold blessings we inherited in Christ.

So he begins to spin his web of lies. Lies that when looked into with our spiritual eyes hold no water. The thing however is that a lot of Christians are still functioning in the physical. The Bible says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10: 4).

The question then becomes, ‘If the weapon I’m supposed to use against the devil is not carnal, how will a person like me still operating in the physical have access to such weapons?’

Truth be told, we already have access to this weapons. But, because we continue to ignore our spirit man, we can’t fully utilize this weapons to maximum capacity. The spirit is like the command centre for this weapons.

Make no mistakes, this weapons are really not physical. These weapons are our words. Jesus said, the words I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life (John 6: 63). He sent His word and He healed our disease. He sends His word and there was light.

We have been made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1: 27). So if His words are spirit and life; our words are also spirit and life.

But, you can’t even begin to speak if you do not already know the Word of God concerning the situation. When you have prior knowledge of a thing, it will be very difficult for you believe a contrary word on that thing.

So, ultimately, it’s going to be one of two things. Either you Get The Word or you Get A Word.

  1. Absolutely on point. And it was the word that Jesus used to defend the devil when he attempted to tempt him after His sojourn to the wilderness – Jesus kept saying ‘as it is written’. The word of God is sharper than any two-edged to cut the devil through and put him in his place. Well done and God bless you always. Amen.
