Matthew 5: 16 ‘Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven’.
A young man died recently. His name was Eric Arubayi. Although I had never heard of him until his death, but there was this connection upon hearing about his death. Almost like how many people didn’t hear about Jesus until after His death.
You know how the Bible says no man ligtheth a candle and putteth it under a bushel (Luke 8:16). This man was a light. Not just any light. He was a mountain top, lighthouse light. From what I heard and what I have seen, this was a man who lit the candles of so many hearts on fire for God. Obeying God’s command to be fruitful and multiply.
Why am I talking about a dead man? Because no man knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36). We need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling and while we’re at it, we also need to spread the light of the Word of God.
What do you want to be remembered for when you’re gone? The life of the party? A soul on fire for God? Or not even remembered at all? There is so much impact we can make on the lives of others by just living right for God. People are watching you.
Just as Jesus washed the disciples feet to set an example for them (John 13). You also have to do certain things that set an example for the people that look up to you. Why? Because we will all give account on the last day.
It may look like fun and games now, but a time is coming when all that matter to you now will be no more. It will be just you and your maker. What will you say then?
