Romans 8: 22 – 25 – ‘All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy’.
You know, I was having a conversation with a friend recently on timing. The Bible in Ecclesiastes 3: 1 says that there is a time and a season to everything under the earth. But most times, we, human beings always want to skip the process leading to the time that we want to experience. So at 16 we want to experience things that we should only be experiencing much later in life. Shortcutting the process robs you of the journey. Without the journey, it will be impossible to manifest.
Jesus for example. He knew exactly what He was meant to do from the moment of His arrival on earth. He was essentially a Boss Baby. However, unlike boss baby, He knew that He needed to go through the process to reap the benefits of the journey. At age 20, we don’t see Jesus running all over the place healing people, He could have, but He didn’t.
Wait for your season. You will know it is your season because it will be something only you would be capable of doing. Manifesting before your time will lead to a miscarriage. Take your pregnancy full term. The full term of your vision. Even the Bible in Habakkuk 2: 3 says that the vision is for an appointed time, though it tarry, wait for it for it shall surely come.
We don’t just become Bible scholars one day after giving our lives to Christ. It’s a forming process as stated by Paul in Galatians 4: 19, ‘My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you’. For anything to form, you have to expose the seed or substance to the right environment. The right environment for Jesus to be fully formed in us is an environment of prayer, meditation on the Word, Thanksgiving, the practice and the becoming of the fruit of the Spirit and most importantly faith; because the Bible says in Hebrews 11: 6, ‘without faith, it is impossible to please God’.
So in your growth process, don’t take any shortcuts. Let Christ be fully formed in you!
