Redeeming Love

When I speak to some people and realize that they haven’t really understood who this ‘Jesus’ is, it breaks my heart. We can only make it to Heaven if we have a full understanding of who God is. Yes, He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, but He is also the Rose of Sharon. He is a jealous God, but He is also a merciful God. He is the, I am that I am, but He is also the One who was, who is and who is to come. It’s not as though we don’t know all these things, sometimes, we just need to be reminded.

But, in other news, Love is in the air; and who better to be an example to us this season? God is like the most romantic person I have ever met. He’ll just say one thing and you’ll be like, oh, I’m totally convinced He loves me. One verse that catches my attention is Isaiah 43:1, ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by my name; you are Mine! What greater love is there than this, than a man should lay down his life for his friends?

God has called me by His name, I am His! This can be hard to fathom, especially with all the sin we commit on a daily basis. But the truth remains that God hates the sin and not the sinner. As long as you’re born again, sin has no more power over your life. We need to start functioning in this mind-set. The devil will really be glad if we just went on belittling our salvation; imagine the look on his face when he realizes, we have discovered the treasure!

Whatever you do tomorrow, know that the devil is desperately trying to get you off track. Whether it’s in the form of that babe with the nice shape or that guy who you just can’t stop thinking about! Don’t let him win.

P.S: Sovereign Army Fellowship invites you to her Love service themed, Relentless Love. Monday 15, February at the Staff School, University of Lagos. 6pm. See you there!
