The Jealous Spouse

Exodus 34:14, ‘For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God’.

Have you ever experienced the feeling of jealousy? Exactly! You know all your feelings of frustration and irritation that somebody who should resort to you to, goes to someone else for their needs. Just like a jealous spouse; ‘oh, so you have somebody else to get help from, oya let’s see who you’ll come to last last’.

This is just the same way God looks at us when we go around seeking for solutions and attention at other places. We go all the way to ‘Z’, when our answer could have been gotten at ‘A’.

My dear, that isn’t your struggle anymore once you gave your life to Christ. Like I’ve been saying in previous posts, He is the burden bearer. Whether you have a need, or a struggle or you just want some attention, Jesus should be your go to guy.

Just like a jealous wife, Good gest jealous when it comes to you. He doesn’t want you sharing your problems with others when you haven’t even told Him about it.

Here’s the problem, in our human minds, talking to a physical person may produce faster answers than talking to this divine entity. But this isn’t true. Talking to a human being can only produce fast results when you already spoke to God about it first. That’s why the Bible says in Proverbs 3: 5, ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding’.

So before you begin to tattle to everybody that will listen to you, make sure you take it to God in prayer because that is the only place where the matter can be permanently dealt with.

  1. God love for us can’t be described because what greater love is it to die for us on the cross of Calvary!
You shall have no other gods besides him !
