Psalm 1: 3, ‘And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper’.
‘Mr Johnson, I’m going to send ₦3,000,000 to your account on Friday’, but Mr. Johnson has no bank account. How will he get the money if he chooses to just sit at thome and wait for Friday without making any steps to open an account and send the account number to the person?
The promise is in place, but there really isn’t any place where that promise can come to pass. Its just the same way with all the promises in the Bible. Case in point the above verse. You shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water, you will bring fruit forth in due season and you will prosper, everybody shouts amen!
But, how? We are now looking at each other’s faces. The answer is simple. By doing! The Bible doesn’t say, ‘and if you work in an oil company, you shall prosper’. Neither does it say, ‘if you’re a professional, you will prosper’.
The wordings are quite clear, but we have by ourselves misinterpreted it. For clarity, it even says, ‘Whatsoever’. Meaning whatever it is, as long as you are the one doing it, you will prosper.
Some people will now go and give whatsoever a meaning that the Bible did not envisage. This is Bible we are talking about, you can’t read ‘whatsoever’, than because of that you say you have the licence to go into prostitution or cybercrime.
The Bible even deals with this in Proverbs 13: 11, ‘Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time’. So apart from doing something, make sure what you are doing is legitimate.
