Worth It?

It is with great joy and all thanks to God that I present to you the latest graduate in town, Me! I know you have most likely thought about that day when you finally get done with uni, so you can start making money and get done with all the reading. But, I’m sure the people who have actually graduated know that’s not the way it goes. For a very minute few, the money actually comes immediately. But a lot of people will still have to do various things including studying and slaving before the big cash out that we all expect.

How does this relate to the things of the spirit? Here’s how! You started your university journey 4 – 6 years ago. With the one singular goal of graduating when you ought to graduate; strikes and carryovers included. In your mind, once you are able to achieve this feat, your life will be alright. You’ll have all the time to sleep, no more reading, all the money to spend etc. you eventually finish and all you are left with is uncertainty. Did I even choose the right course, what am I going to do with zoology? Will I be successful? All these thoughts may be going through your mind. Now you’re wondering, was it even worth it.

Was it worth it to ignore your relationship with God because you were pursuing a degree that at the end of the day only left you with questions about the future? And then this is when you realize that when God said we should lay up treasures in heaven, where moth doth not corrupt (Matthew 6:20), he wasn’t playing. Vanity upon vanity all is vanity (Ecclesiastes 1: 14)…..hmmmn! Deep. But you never bothered to check just how deep that statement is.

Christianity is the only sure investment. When you get to heaven, you get your reward. Simple! No story, it’s not MMM, it’s not a degree and it’s definitely not a scam. Variables don’t come into play. It is the unadulterated word of God. Numbers 23; 19 says, ‘God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?’ and this is what He has said in John 14: 1 – 3 that He has gone to prepare a place for us.

This words aren’t idle words. They are words that are true.
